The "story-time" you told exactly describes me. I work full time and I animate whatever the art director gives me. This is killing me. I feel like I'm losing my own creativity. But I live in Turkey and "real" animation studios pay low salaries and unfortunately our economy sucks 😅 I have been a Motion Designer for 7 years. I have been working from home for 4 years. I get very distracted when I think about what I can do as an extra. I want to make a 2D animation, then my mind goes to 3D. Then I want to learn other things. At the end of the day, I can't do anything. There is no one I can consult or talk to. For example, I create an idea for a 2D animation, and when I stumble in the creativity part, all my desire disappears. I can't figure out what I should do 😥

Please try to get in a bit more depth. Thanks for great tutorials!

Nice tut. The only issue I see with this it's the corners need to stay still while it's rotating, ODF rendered the back of the object because they were having the same issues with the corners. Apart from that, well done demystifying this master piece :)

You're correct, but I practice a lot on keying like insanely a lot for the past 2 years and I can do magic with it now with 2d animation. The most important thing about learning motion design is getting your basic down on how things work, even if you not well articulated or insanely good with the technicals as long as you understand the basic and apply all the principle on motion graphics the skill to make it happen will eventually come. I call this stuff "Tutorial Hell" It is very similar with programming, you learn how to create a project based on algorithm or a technique yet you can't apply the technique you learned on the previous project to a new one.

amazing tutorial. for those who are confused like me the first time I watched this video, I struggled the first time around cause I had no idea what he's doing. my advice is: go watch a tutorial on slider control and get the principle behind so you can fully understand what's going on here. once I learned about slider controls principle everything here made more and more sense. guess I truly earned those xp's now :)

No need to duplicate comps in order to use them as a matte layer. You can use any layer as a track matte now, for multiple layers, and it doesn't have to be directly above anymore.

This video taught me how to better manage my time list by using the keyboard and how to add keyframes. 😅❤

Gotta kudos responding to each comment, but this does scream ‘I need money’ whilst making guarantee money from your viewers (your viewers are taking the risk to reward). Even if it’s aimed at advanced Motion Designers, this should clearly be stated in the video and website etc. To save people time and money I highly recommend doing your own research and join other communities to those who had success freelancing e.g. marketing yourself on LinkedIn, networking etc. There’s a benefit with 1-2-1 calls with tips etc, but not like this - it gives Andrew Tate vibes (in my honest opinion). Good to see the community be vocal.
